Wandering Palm Adventures is a boutique tour company based in Orlando, FL, curating immersive food and art experiences that spotlight the local flavor beyond the theme parks. With a growing customer base and a bold, energetic brand, they needed a website that truly embodied their personality—something engaging, easy to manage, and ready to support their next phase of growth.

Challenges & Opportunities

With this clients, we had three primary issues we needed to resolve for them.

Challenge #1. Skyrocketing Hosting Costs

The client was hit with a surprise pricing hike from their previous hosting provider, nearly 10x cost increase when you compare it to similar hosting plans. It was a major financial red flag and forced an urgent migration. We had a clear deadline to avoid service disruption and needed a fast, stable solution.

Challenge #2. A Website That Fell Flat

Although functional, the original website didn’t capture the vibrancy of the brand. It lacked that signature “fun” factor and felt inconsistent. Our audit uncovered a patchwork of edits made by multiple contributors, which led to a slight disjointed experience that led to inconsistencies in our the pages appeared.

Challenge #3. Backend That Blocked Productivity

Despite being built on WordPress, the backend was overly complex; built for developers, not business owners.  Making even minor updates required reaching out to the developers. It wasn’t just inefficient—it was a roadblock to agility and growth. Our client needed autonomy and clarity.

Challenge #4. A WordPress Website That Wasn’t Transferable

One thing that came up early on in the process was that the typical transfer methods available for WordPress, did not work. We discovered that the original hosting company, has a very unique and custom setup, that any WordPress exports would not work. This turned the project from a “transfer hosting and redesign website” to a “build a completely new website”.

  • Make the site transferrable, in the event the client wishes to host somewhere else.
  • Make the custom code that is needed for this project, transferable to the client.
